Ok, Im back in town from the weekend and ready to get back to cleaning up the house. Since I didn’t do any this weekend, I’ll attempt to make up for it.

• More cassettes [including Men at Work and Red Hot Chili Peppers]
• Another wall charger for my cell phone
• Another set of manuals for my cell phone
• Leather bound organizer
• Several empty spiral notebooks [probably from school] to the recycling bin
• Several backup cd’s
• CD binder
• Stacks of free personalized mailing labels
• Marlboro butane lighter [empty for at least a decade]
• Two old cell phones [neither one working]
• Stack of hundreds of ATM receipts going back to 2003
• Christmas receipts from 2005
• Knee brace
• More books, magazines [inluding 1987 program from the Harlem Globetrotters, apparently their 60th year]
• 6 boxes of [shredded] checks going back 10 years
• 5 books about cars [not trashed, but placed on Craigslist for someone else to enjoy]
• DSL modem [placed on Craigslist as well . . surely someone out there wants this crap?]

I think that’s it for today . . that should make up for this weekend.

Ok, this is easier then I thought . . . at least so far. And since last night, [I'm a little scared to admit] I’ve found some absolute gold mines that will get me through the hard times.

On todays chopping block

• Steely Dan VCR tape [never seen and dont know a Steely Dan song]
• St. Elmo’s Fire VCR tape [never seen, my sister taped it 20 years ago]
• Police Academy VCR tape [ok, this one I've seen . . . about 30 times]
• Pair of computer speakers
• TV rabbit ears [I mean honestly]
• Aftermarket radio and amp from my Trans Am
• Aftermarket power antenna from my Trans Am

Things I’m trashing

• Wore out wallet
• DVR User’s Guide
• 15 year old pair of gloves with holes
• Box my new cell phone came in WITH extra power cable [I'da never done that before]
• 3 brand new blank tapes in wrapper
• Wore out pair of cheap sandles I’ll never wear again

WHEW, that was fun. I don’t want to over do it on my first night . . could run out of stuff quickly.

With that in mind, I’ll call it quits tonight, but I’m already frothing over tomorrow nights victims.

You like that? See, if I change the word ‘borrow’ into something else each time I ‘repurpose’ an idea, you [as an evil user] can’t use my search to find out exactly how unoriginal I am.

So, for todays stolen idea, I turn to my very knowledgable and talented coworker, Matt Cave.

Over the past several weeks and months Matt has been shedding weight at a ferocious pace. Somewhere along the line he determined that it’s the small things you do everyday make the whole . . the actual outcome.

So maybe in some weird relational way he came to the realization that he could shed some unwanted trash around the house while shedding his unwanted weight.

So in an attempt to repurpose other peoples ideas [since I'm running short of my own lately], Im going to join in on Matt’s fun.

I’ll update my progress here . . . stay tuned

Since borrowing ideas is easier then coming up with your own, I’ve considered using this tactic in an attempt to get more use out of my camera . . . and update this site a little more often.

So, borrowing an idea from a great designer [www.jasonsantamaria.com/dailyphoto], I’m considering adding maybe a weekly photo section to the site [let's face it, I don't do showers daily, I certainly can't manage to take and upload a photo that often].

This is just a thought now, but that’s based on the fact that I don’t currently have time to add the section . . . much less take and upload a photo

Maybe this is a bad idea.
