The lucky ones

We’ve had the property since Memorial Day and it’s starting to become clear who’s really made out on this deal.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re having a blast out there. There’s a lot of work to do, but we’ve gotten a decent amount done and we manage to fit in some relaxation each trip down.

A lot of fun centers around the pond. As the sun goes down, we’ll head on down to look for some trouble. We’re occasionally able to find the rare breeze in those parts, and that’s no small find.

Chris was hellbent on finding a little jon boat to bring out there. I honestly didn’t have much interest in one, but it’s been surprisingly fun. I’m glad he ended up getting it.

We also try to pull some fish out of that little body of water. We’ve had minimal luck. The fish bite fairly often, but . . . .

. . . they leave a lot to be desired. There actually is a fish on the end of that string. I know . . you can’t see it, but I saw it with my own two eyes.

I’ve just never seen one that size that wasn’t is a billiard ball-sized glass cup.

Then there’s these knuckleheads. Jackass one and Jackass two can’t get themselves enough of that damn pond. Madison likes to mosey down every time someone is not giving her enough attention, which, quite frankly, is all the time.

She knows she’s in trouble. She knows she doesn’t call the shots and I’d rather her not smell like dirty pond water and dead fish for the ride home.

She doesn’t care.

At the same time, the drying off process of the mindless canine is always entertaining.

A quick shake, then she’s back in.

Then back out. Digging in hard.

Haaarrrrrdeerrrrr.

Then rolling around. Flailing. Thrashing.

She inevitably loses control and rolls down the bank back into the water.

She finally gets up . . jello knees and all. And dives right back in.

haha, nice. Looks like Madison is having a fantastic time.

My black lab, Emma - HATES WATER. She thinks she is a princess and hates the outdoors, too.

    Nice photos!

Just remember, “you can’t wipe off nature with nature.”
